Exemptions from the waiting period


Exemptions from the waiting period:
  • A person who becomes an Oleh under the Law of Return for the first time, including someone who is recognized as a “Resident Immigrant” by the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption;
  • A minor up to 18 years of age;
  • A “Returning Minor”— a person who left Israel as a minor, even if he returned to Israel as an adult. It is necessary to bring an authorization from the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption stating that this person has been defined as a "returning minor”;
  • A soldier discharged from compulsory service or from the regular military service—for a period of 24 months from the date of discharge;
  • An Israeli resident who spent time overseas and has paid insurance contributions regularly, without missing more than 12 months of contributions;
  • A holder of an A/1 visa who was recognized as an Oleh Hadash (new immigrant), for the first time.
