Combined degrees of disability

If you were granted degrees of disability from several accidents at work, for which you have received a grant or a work disability pension, we may, in special circumstances, be able to combine the degrees of disability, in order to raise your disability.

Conditions of combined disabilities

To be able to combine your different degrees of work disability, you have to meet the following conditions:

Your income was permanently reduced (at the time of income examination) by 50% or more.

The decrease in your income results from the accumulation of disabilities recognized from different accidents at work.

You will be entitled to a disability pension instead of a grant.

or

If you are already eligible for a pension - you degree of disability will reach a rate of 65% at least.

Examples of combined disabilities

Example 1: In a first work injury, you were granted a 10% degree of disability
In a second work injury, you were granted a 15% degree of disability
Combining both degrees of disability will bring you to a weighted degree of disability at a rate of 23.5%, entitling you to a pension instead of a grant.

Example 2: In a first work injury, you were granted a 15% degree of disability

In a second work injury, you were granted a 30% degree of disability
Combining both degrees of disability will bring you to a weighted degree of disability at a rate of 40.5%, entitling you to a pension instead of a grant.

Example 3: In a first work injury, you were granted a 20% degree of disability entitling to a pension
In a second work injury, you were granted a 20% degree of disability entitling to a pension
