A person who is injured at work is entitled to an injury allowance under the following conditions:

The days for which work-injury allowance are paid will not be deducted from your quota of sick leave days.

People ineligible for injury allowance:

  • An insured person who actually worked in a period of incapacity determined by a medical certificate.
  • An insured person who actually worked during the period of incapacity specified in the medical certificate. An insured person who was injured while undergoing vocational rehabilitation or vocational training, and suffered no loss of income from work due to the injury.
  • A soldier performing a permanent military service.
  • A prisoner, detainee or person residing in an institution under the Youth Law.
  • A foreign worker staying in Israel illegally.
