Housing aid for severely disabled with a special disability level of 100%


Home purchase grant
Persons with a special disability level of 100% who suffer from the following injury types: paraplegia, quadriplegia; double leg or double arm amputations; amaurosis; burns and head injuries, who are homeless or reside in homes unsuitable for their disabilities, are entitled to a one-time grant for purchasing or building a home. The grant amount is determined from time to time.

Refund of leasing fee
Persons with a special disability level of 100% residing in a home under a lease agreement with the Israel Land Administration are entitled to a full refund of the leasing fee. The refund is paid for the current budget year (no refund is paid for preceding years).

Refund of capitalization fee
As of the dates stated below, persons with a special disability level of 100% suffering from the following injury types, are entitled to a full refund of capitalization fee paid to the Israel land Administration for the plot used for building their home:

      • Paralysis – as of 1.1.2000
      • Two leg amputation – as of 1.1.2002

In order to receive this benefit, please submit an application to the rehabilitation department at your local NII branch, accompanied by original receipts.

Installation of an electric gate
Persons with a special disability level of 100% who suffer from paraplegia or who have had both their legs amputated and do not own a home or those in the process of building or purchasing a ground-attached home, are entitled to a one-time contribution towards installing an electric gate for their home.

The amount of the grant is 75% of the cost (but not higher than NIS 5,000), and is conditional upon the presentation of original tax invoices and receipts.

Home maintenance grant
Persons with a special disability level of 100% who suffer from the following injury types: paraplegia, quadriplegia; double leg or double arm amputation; amaurosis; burns and head injuries, who have lived in their privately owned home or have rented a home owned by the national insurance institute for a period of two years or more, are entitled to an annual grant for the maintenance of their home. The grant is paid two years after moving in, together with the benefit for July.
