A person staying abroad in a country that has ratified an International Social Security Convention with Israel, will receive their old-age pension in that country, in accordance with the law and the regulations of that particular convention.
In order to receive an old age pension in the convention country, one must follow the following guidelines:
- A person who received a pension in Israel, and went abroad to a country that has a bilateral social security convention with Israel - will keep receiving the pension in the convention country country with which Israel has signed a social security convention, even after he or she ceased being an Israeli residentA person whose life is centered in Israel. Criteria for determining this include: Israel is your permanent place of residence, where your family resides, where your children go to school, your primary place of work, or where you are studying. . To continue receiving the pension, he must contact the National Insurance Institute in writing and: request receiving the pension in his country of residence, submit his personal information, indicate his foreign address in clear Latin characters and the details of his bank account to which the payment of the pension is requested.
- A person who did not receive a pension in Israel and went abroad to a country that has a bilateral social security convention with Israel where he or she reached retirement age may be entitled to an old age pension, even if he or she ceased being an Israeli resident. The person must send a claim form for old-age pension to the National Insurance Institute, and attach the following documents:
- A bank authorization with details of the bank account and the address of the bank;
- The exact home address in clear, English letters;
- A "life certificate" signed by the consulate or authorized notary or local authority, or social security institute in the country of residence, a declaration of income and that or a spouse.
- A declaration regarding his income and his spouse's income.
- A woman receiving an old age pension as a housewifeA married woman (except for aguna) whose husband is covered in old-age insurance, or a widow who receives a survivors' pension or a dependents' pension – if she does not work as a salaried employee nor as a self-employed worker. or for being exempted from the qualifying period, who has left Israel for a country that has a bilateral social security convention with Israel - may continue to receive the pension the convention country. Changing residence
The entitlement to an old age pension of a person who changes their place of residence from one convention country abroad to another – for example, from Britain to France – will be re-examined in accordance with the convention of the new country or residence.
The entitlement to an old age pension of a person who changed their place of residence from a convention country to a country with which Israel has no convention will be examined according to the rules of continued payment of pension.
