What are thermal cures treatments?
Thermal cures are baths built over hot water sources, and are used for therapeutic purposes.
Treatments at thermal cures are provided to disabled people suffering from diseases or injuries impairing their mobility function and spine, or orthopedic injuries.
For your information, treatment at thermal cures are considered medical therapy. Therefore, you have go through all therapies and treatment days that were given to you according to your injury for the same year.
Every journey to medicinal baths involves a therapeutic program of 5 consecutive days at least. It is not possible to transfer or spare days of therapy for the next calendar year.
How eligibility for cares at thermal cures is established?
Entitlement is established based on impairment sections according to the instructions of the Rehabilitation Department of the Ministry of Defense, as well as upon approval of a physician of the National Insurance.
Once a disability percentage has been determined for you by a Medical Board, should you be entitled to this benefit, this would be notified to you in writing by the hostile actions casualties department, mentioning conditions and means of realizing the benefit.
On your Personal Service account, you can check what is your eligibility, for how many days, and if an accompanying person can join you.
What is included in the entitlement?
Treatments: the financing includes thermal cures treatment for a number of consecutive days. The number of approved therapies and days is established according to the type of your injury and the impairment sections you were determined.
Accommodation and stay: When you choose to receive a therapy in a distant location from your home, you are entitled to a grant covering your accommodation in a hotel for the duration of the therapy. Accommodation is authorized in hotels listed in the permanent list of hotels that have signed an agreement, and within the limits agreed upon in advance with the hotels. List of partner hotels (updated to June 2020) Accompaniment: one may be eligible to bring an accompanying person for the duration of the cares, depending on your age and types of injury. You will be notified the right for an accompanying person along the notification of eligibility for cares. A disabled person who reached the age of 65, is entitled to be accompanied to cares.
Returns for travel expenses and lost working days: to receive a return on your travel expenses and lost working days during your stay at the thermal cures, you need to contact the Hostile Actions Department of your local branch. Documents can be sent the branch's department directly through the website.
How to arrange for cares, accommodation and stay?
After receiving notification of your entitlement to a thermal cures treatments, you will be able to book therapies and arrange accommodation by one of the following means:
- Online reservation through the Personal Service website of the National Insurance
- Telephone reservation through a tourism company, "Eshet Tours" or "Flying Carpet":

from Sunday through Thursday, between 8:30 and 16:30, and on holiday eves, between 8:30 and 13:00.
Important information
You may arrange therapies and accommodation in a hotel at a time that is convenient for you, subject to availability.
Upon your arrival at the hostel, to be provided services, you need to show the following documents:
- ID card
- Hostile actions - disability card
- Accommodation voucher
- Treatment voucher (for thermal cures patients) - a health statement, that is sent to you along with the voucher, must be filed out and signed. If the hostel of your choice does not offer thermal cures, the prescription will be valid for cures in the nearby area.
Regarding thermal cures, you are responsible to sign for each cure day performed as a condition to exercise accommodation eligibility.
Paid supplements
Changes in reservation nor included in the entitlement through tourism companies. Such changes will be charged extra costs, for instance: room upgrade, additional staying days, additional room, additional treatments, and more.
In Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot and Passover, hostel stay reservation will be charged at extra cost.
If you are not allowed to bring an accompanying person, you can add one for extra charge through the tourism company, at a discount price.
